The History Of Western Fashion

The History of Western Fashion is the story of the changing fashions in apparel for men and women in Western Europe and other countries under its influence in the period from 1500 to the present.  

Fashion is a popular aesthetic expression in a certain time and environment, especially in apparel, footwear, life, accessories, makeup, and haircuts.  

Let's remember that fashion generally involves two effects: reproduction and recycling. 

However, it'll inescapably be imitated if something seems like a new idea. That does not mean it's a good idea.

Almost guaranteed, someone in the future will produce a fashion idea that will injure or incapacitate, yet it'll be imitated.  

Humans constructed the bone needle about 4,000 times ago. Around 4,000 years ago, the sandal was invented. starting with classical Greek and Roman tradition.

Long before people used designer sheets to trim themselves for toga parties, togas were the way to go in hot, sticky conditions. 

Dyed fabric showed wealth, style, and social position, but you could not wear purple unless you also had one of those lush crown effects made of gold! Purple was for the emperor. By the 2nd century BC, however, togas were worn simply by men and prostitutes. 

Take a leap of devotion and jump a thousand years. Fur, wool, linen (if you could get it), and silk ruled fashion. The tunic, a type of form-fitting dress for men and women, has surfaced from Rome, Byzantium, and the Northern raiders who destroyed the Roman Empire.  

By 1200, dyeing and embroidery became status symbols, and new colours surfaced. We think of former humans as wearing drab, sad apparel, but no, our ancestors realised colour and our capability to accessorise separated us from the creatures, too.  

By 1300, Western fashion had actually come to a thing. Clothing has gone from draping to acclimatising, and the emergence of britches (pants), hats, and the belt. 

By 1400, being "out of style" had created the first fashionistas and fashions had begun to trend. Clothes have come out in public as well. Indeed, though there was no England, France, and Italy as we know them today, fabric and fashion flowed through the Italians.

By 1500, Western fashion was heavily influenced by Spain and also British power under Elizabeth, and substance was the word. crazy high collars that looked strangely like those plastic cones on dogs. 

By 1600, the collars had been replaced by lace crosses for men and women, giant hats, and, d you guessed it,- britches that slightly recalled MC Hammer pants.  

By 1700, we came into a period more familiar to most Americans, with riding habits for men and larger-than-normal, lower-sectional dresses for women. 

Thankfully, the collars were gone, but the French, who had now established numerous of the fashion houses we know at the moment, were over the top crazy.
